SYNTipede Premium 220

The Premium class SYNTipede 220 redefines hybrid artificial grass techonolgy offering the best of both worlds; high performace resiliency and soft touch. Utilizing the latest innovation in artificial fiber techonolgy, the soft polyethylene fibers are produced with a unique cross-section creating a spine for added strength combined with the superior resiliency of dense nylon, this synthethic grass outperforms other hybrid grasses in this class.

Environment Friendly
Exclusive EnviroLoc technology with BioCel backing system results in 60%-70% green by weight with greater dimensional stability. Contributes points towards LEED certification.
Minimal Infill
Uses only minimal amounts of silica sand for ballast.
Resiliency
Dense nylon thatch for resiliency and support combined with the a new soft polyethylene blade incorporating the latest advancement in techonology to create an added support spine cross-section.
Recommended for
Residential landscapes, water saturated areas, problem areas and shady areas. Recommended for landscapes with moderate-heavy foot traffic, pet areas for medium sized dogs and play areas.

Sub-base
  1. Remove sod if necessary.
  2. Grade must be at least 3 inches below the border (curbing, edging, patio, etc.).
  3. Install at least 2-4 inches of 1/4"" minus compaction aggregate (road base) bringing the grade up to 1 inch below the border.
  4. Level and disperse aggregate with landscape rake.
  5. Lightly soak the aggregate.
  6. Compact aggregate using a vibratory plate compactor. Aggregate may be added to low areas during this process.

Note: Aggregate will stick to the compactor if too wet. At least 80% compaction is ideal.

Seams
  1. Precisely cut the edge against the tufted row.
  2. When seams are in position, place a nail approximately 18 inches from the seam to secure the turf.
  3. Fold back the turf and hold with a temporary weight.
  4. Lay 12-18 inch urethane cloth directly under the seam.
  5. Secure cloth with a nail at the end of the seams.
  6. Pour and spread adhesive on the cloth. (use scrap piece to spread adhesive) Remove the weight from the folds.
  7. Slowly and simultaneously lay both sides of the turf on the adhesive. Avoid overlapping the backing. In addition, make sure the fibers do not come in contact with the adhesive.
  8. Apply weight on the seams and allow 1hour to dry. When complete, seams may be reinforced with nails.
Edges
  1. Overlap edges with turf.
  2. Secure the position of the turf with nails.
  3. As with seaming, fold back turf to the edge exposing the backside.
  4. Cut vertical relief cuts to create smaller sections to work with.
  5. On the backside, cut the excess turf precisely to the edge. Turf should be cut within 1/8 inch from the edge.
Infill
  1. Infill not required for all applications.
  2. Before applying, broom up the fibers of the turf until fibers are standing up. The sand acts as a ballast(weight). A tubular (round) 20 grit sand is recommended.
  3. Evenly distribute a layer of sand by hand or a drop seed spreader (without a spreading wheel) throughout the lawn.
  4. After each layer has been distributed, the infill must be broomed into the base (backing) of the turf fibers.

Note: A quarter inch layer of infill is recommended. Approximately 1-1.5 pounds of infill per square foot.
