Glenrock, WY — Well-designed public spaces play an important role in community engagement and improve physical and mental health – especially in rural areas like Glenrock, a mountain town located in Central Wyoming. The Glenrock Community Development Director hired SYNLawn South Dakota to help construct the outdoor amphitheater, which is the centerpiece of the new Glenrock Town Square.
Creating an Outdoor Amphitheater with SYNLawn Artificial Grass
Glenrock Town Square was designed and built with the community in mind. Those involved in the project understood that access to public green spaces has a positive impact on community wellness. The goal was to create a multi-use destination offering numerous recreation and entertainment opportunities.
The design of the town square included the amphitheater building and outdoor lawn for concerts, movies and other festivities; a basketball court; a community playground with a splash pad; and fire pits for socializing. SYNLawn South Dakota collaborated with Caspar Building Systems to design and install the lawn areas of the outdoor amphitheater for year-round use.
SYNLawn South Dakota transformed the property with the installation of 4,500 square feet of SYNTipede 243. This premium turf provides superior strength and resiliency, and it’s made with Super Yarn™ technology that incorporates heat reflective, anti-static, Sanitized® and non-abrasive grass blades. SYNTipede 243 is also a sustainable product due to its exclusive plant-based EnviroLoc+™ backing system that uses renewable soybeans. SYNLawn South Dakota also used Ultra Base Professional Panels and Envirofill in the installation of the synthetic surfacing.
SYNLawn South Dakota is proud to have contributed to the creation of this centralized gathering space that local residents (as well as neighboring communities) will be able to take advantage of for recreation, entertainment and special events serving the county. SYNLawn South Dakota was able to witness firsthand how happy the community was with the new public destination when they attended the grand opening ceremony for Glenrock Town Square. They even received words of appreciation from the mayor of Glenrock. The team looks forward to future projects helping other communities create their own community hubs.
