Portland Trade Show(off)s

Whenever there’s an opportunity to show off, SYNLawn will be there. The new SYNLawn store in Beaverton, Oregon just opened in the first quarter of 2006 and would you believe the weekend they recently had? TWO shows in one weekend! At the same time! Talk about enthusiasm and you’re talking about the people that get to share SYNLawn with the world.

The first show was the Portland Home & Garden Show, also known as The Home Show, held from the 22nd to the 26th of February. With over 315,000 square feet to explore, The Home Show is billed as one place to compare prices, purchase new products and plan entire building projects. The other event was the Yard, Garden & Patio Show, which was held from the 24th to the 26th of February at the Oregon Convention Center. In its eighth year, the Yard, Garden & Patio Show has grown over the years to the point that it’s recognized as the unofficial launch of spring in the Portland area. The overwhelming response at both shows were astonishment. SYNLawn is relatively new to the northwest, so when the folks saw our turf at their feet, disbelief was expressed. “Are you kidding me?” was one of the first questions asked at both booths. (For the questions that followed, as well as the answers, click on the entry titled “Looking for Answers” from February 2006.) They had seen artificial turf before, but they hadn’t seen turf like SYNLawn. The floors of both of our booths were covered with SYNFescue Premium. If you’ve ever had the opportunity to experience this turf for yourself, you understand. If not, put it on your personal list of things to do in life. We can tell you all day about how great SYNLawn is, but seeing (and feeling) is believing. The lawn issues being faced by our friends in the northwest are definitely regional. Lawns aren’t growing properly due to lack of sunlight, partly due to shade from trees, which leads to mossy patches. Another factor is poor drainage after rains, due to the clay-like soil which acts as a table that simply holds the water on its surface. What are they going to do? The northwest is wet. The people accept that, but they also want a beautiful lawns. That’s where SYNLawn comes in and we’re more than happy to help.
