Rockaway Beach, NY — Thanks to tax dollars hard at work helping to improve public schools, an effort which began as a simple improvement to a school’s playgrounds became something much more. Located in Rockaway Beach New York, planners began to seek a sensible solution to replace the existing sandy, sea-level playground surfaces with something safe for the children and good for the environment.

Rockaway Beach Elementary School adds SYNLawn

After some research the conclusive decision was to install 6000 square feet of the ultra-resilient SYNBermua Platinum 300 from the SYNLawn Playground System. Spec’d by both the New York School Construction Authority and world-renown architectural firm Abel Bainnson & Butts, selected for it’s 8′ fall ratings, no-infill installation, non-abrasive surface, and SYNBermuda’s built-in HeatBlock Technology™.

Installation of the school’s new playground environment also included planting shade trees around the perimeter of the playground as part of the ongoing One Million Tree campaign for New York City. An ongoing effort to plant and care for one million new trees across the City’s five boroughs over the next decade.

With their new playgrounds installed the school’s children now have a safe, clean and “e;green” play area to romp around on during recess. Not just for play-time, what was once a virtually un-used area is now an open, outdoor space, teachers can use for school gatherings, class functions and student projects without worries of kids getting dirty or bug bites. ASTM HIC approved and tested, parents can rest easy with the re-assurance their children’s play area is built for safety, non-allergenic and best of all… No more dirt and grass stains!
