Building an Inclusive Park with Premium Artificial Turf

The Paco Sanchez Park project was a special one for the SYNLawn Colorado team, since they had the chance to build an inclusive park using 12,630 square feet of premium artificial turf that will be enjoyed by citizens of all ages and abilities for decades to come.

Colby Gingles, Outside Sales Manager at SYNLawn Colorado, worked closely with the Denver Department of Parks & Recreation and Dig Studio to develop a plan on how to best utilize SYNLawn’s premium artificial turf. They ultimately decided on installing SYNAugustine X47 since it provides unmatched softness and durability, making it the perfect turf to create a safe Community play area environment. Through SYNLawns thorough testing capabilities, we were able to achieve the desired fall zone rating without the need for extra padding or material.

A Project Three Years in the Making

Paco Sanchez Park took a total of three years from start to finish. The project required countless hours of persistence, consistency, availability, and education from SYNLawn Colorado, the City of Denver and Dig Studios. The landscape of the park, as well as the design of the Community Play Area, made for a challenging installation. The hills and mounds made it tough to implement the SYNAugustine X47 turf. However, the SYNLawn Colorado team was able to get it done through hard work and due to their experience with previous installations that were a challenge.

Each respective team worked diligently to bring their vision to life. The end result is an innovative DJ-inspired park with music-themed playground installations. Not only is this unique tribute to Paco Sanchez an ideal community play area gathering spot, it also promotes diversity and inclusion in the Denver community.
