With three children involved in sports, the homeowners wanted a space where their active family could play hockey, basketball, and pickleball whenever they liked, right at home. A large concrete area in the yard was going unused, making it the perfect spot for a multi-sport court.

This modular sports surface features a high-density rib pattern for superior durability under demanding conditions. According to the manufacturer, it can withstand a sustained load of 16,000 pounds per square foot. Its leaf spring-style flex joint system provides controlled lateral give during play, helping reduce leg stress and improve player comfort.
Mateflex III is made from a high-impact polypropylene copolymer, with advanced stabilizers that help it hold up across a wide range of climates. Its flow-through design lets rainwater and other liquids drain away quickly, so standing water doesn’t become a slipping hazard. That’s a big advantage in the Pacific Northwest, where the family can get back to playing soon after a rain shower instead of waiting for the court to dry.
