Cincinnati’s Factory 52 Offers Imaginative Green Spaces
Cincinnati, OH — The former site of the iconic United States Playing Card Company was transformed into the ultimate lifestyle destination. SYNLawn Cincinnati was chosen to reinvent the property’s outdoor areas with the installation of imaginative green spaces for the community, including a state-of-the-art dog park, a pickleball complex, Central Green Park, and Card Park.
Creating Outdoor Living Spaces with Artificial Turf
The owner of the development, PLK Communities, selected the experts at SYNLawn Cincinnati to make the most of the outdoor environments located on the 20-acre property. They were impressed with the quality, performance, and luxurious design of SYNLawn’s artificial turf products. Their vision was to create unique artistic landscaping designs. SYNLawn Cincinnati worked closely with MSA Design and two contractors of PLK Communities (HGC Construction and Manning Contracting LLC) to bring the design plans to life.
To create ‘Bark Park,’ the recreational and social destination for pups and their people, the team from SYNLawn Cincinnati installed 12,700 square feet of SYNTipede X43. This pet-friendly turf offers the softest touch, and it’s extremely durable for high-traffic spaces like a public dog park. It’s also one of the cleanest and safest synthetic grass options available since it’s made with Super Yarn™ technology that features heat-reflective, anti-static, Sanitized®, and non-abrasive turf blades.
SYNLawn Cincinnati used a total of 17,421 square feet of SYNAugustine 347 to create the other outdoor living spaces. This turf offers a natural and realistic feel, and it’s the softest and most comfortable variety ever created. It also provides superior drainage that eliminates water pooling and stagnation. One of the installations that utilized this impressive turf is the Central Green. It pays homage to the property’s history as a playing card factory with its custom turf that is shaped like a playing card spade. This unique installation is viewable from the residential units and Hi-Wire Brewing. It’s home to a multi-use stage area, which was designed to create an amphitheater-type environment that provides ideal viewing angles from any spot.
Another innovative installation built by SYNLawn Cincinnati is a pickleball complex made from SYNAugustine 347 that features multiple playing courts. It’s located at ACES Pickleball + Kitchen, which is one of the region’s largest pickleball facilities. Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States and SYNLawn offers the most stylish court options.
Both SYNTipede X43 and SYNAugustine 347 are sustainable turf choices due to SYNLawn’s exclusive plant-based EnviroLoc+™ backing system that uses renewable soybeans.
