Dream Park Brings Inclusive Playground Design to Fort Worth Families
Fort Worth, TX – Outdoor play is essential to healthy child development, and more communities are making it a priority to give residents easy access to safe recreation areas. The City of Fort Worth recognized the need for a park where children of all ages and abilities could play together. SYNLawn Dallas-Fort Worth was hired to help design and build Dream Park Fort Worth, the largest playground in the area, with inclusive playground design and synthetic surfacing that create a safer, more welcoming place to play.
Creating Community Play Zones With Premium Playground Turf
For this large-scale project, SYNLawn Dallas-Fort Worth installed 32,340 square feet of SYNTipede 321, one of the safest and cleanest playground surfacing options available. It has the look and feel of real grass, yet it’s tough enough to handle heavy foot traffic from kids for years to come.
How Synthetic Turf Supports Inclusive Playground Design
SYNTipede 321 provides a smooth, stable surface that’s easier to navigate for children who use wheelchairs or have other mobility challenges, so more kids can join in the fun. Synthetic turf also helps reduce playground injuries by absorbing shock and lessening the impact of falls.
Other advantages of synthetic playground surfacing include:
- A cleaner play environment: No dirt or mud, and the surface dries quickly after a North Texas thunderstorm.
- Fewer allergy triggers: Synthetic turf doesn’t produce grass pollen, which can make outdoor play more comfortable for kids with seasonal allergies.
- Less upkeep: Unlike the wood fiber mulch it replaced, the turf doesn’t need to be raked, refilled, or replaced on a regular schedule.
To complete the installation, SYNLawn Dallas-Fort Worth also added Envirofill infill and 3,360 square feet of Brock 2-inch pads, which are engineered specifically for artificial turf playgrounds.
