San Antonio, TX — Reading is a crucial building block to a child’s brain development and development of key skills. East Central Independent School District (ECISD) understood the importance of creating an inviting and unique space to encourage reading among students. SYNLawn Central Texas was hired to design and install a one-of-a-kind reading nook featuring artificial turf.
Inspiring Students with Custom Artificial Grass Installation
SYNLawn Central Texas has vast experience transforming indoor and outdoor spaces. The project’s first step was designing a custom reading nook that would inspire the students to read. The artificial grass was chosen to make students feel like they’ve been transported outside to read while lounging on the soft grass.
The second step of the project was installing 1,000 square feet of SYNFescue 60 to create a wraparound seating area with upper and lower seating options. The turf’s realistic multi-toned fibers replicate the lush appearance of natural grass, and SYNFescue 60 is durable enough to withstand heavy foot traffic from students every day of the school year.
SYNFescue is one of the safest turf options since it’s made from non-toxic, lead-free materials and has been tested and certified by the International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA). This certification ensures products have undergone rigorous testing and meet the highest safety standards.
The SYNLawn Central Texas team immensely enjoyed working on this creative project to build a fun reading environment that generations of ECISD students will enjoy. The team’s efforts were recognized at the annual SYNLawn Conference, where they won the “Best Interior Project” award.
