Murrieta Hot Springs Resort Upgrades Visitor Experience with Plant-Based Synthetic Surfacing

Murrieta, CA — Murrieta Hot Springs Resort in Southern California offers a lush oasis experience for visitors looking for ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation. The newly renovated, 46-acre property features dozens of mineral-rich geothermal pools. As part of the recent upgrades, SYNLawn San Diego was hired to install plant-based synthetic surfacing to replace the sand beach walkway between the lake and several pools.

Creating a Sustainable Oasis with SYNAugustine 547

This renovation project was needed to enhance the customer experience and improve property maintenance. The sand negatively impacted pool water purity, damaged equipment, and was a nuisance to maintain. Due to the hot summer temperatures of the region, the sand was also becoming too hot for visitors to walk on barefoot when moving between the natural mineral pools. SYNLawn San Diego was asked to recommend an eco-friendly surfacing product that would address these concerns, yet still provide visitors with a luxurious oasis experience.

SYNLawn San Diego replaced the sand by installing 5,000 square feet of SYNAugustine 547, the only USDA-certified bio-based artificial grass on the market. Made with plant-based polyethylene from soybeans, this turf reduces environmental impact while maintaining exceptional durability. It features soft, multi-colored SYNLawn Biomimetic™ grass blades and sugarcane thatch to deliver a natural look and feel. SYNAugustine 547 is engineered with Super Yarn™ Technology, which includes Sanitized® Antimicrobial Technology, StatBlock™ antistatic, and DualChill™ IR-reflective properties. These properties create a cleaner and cooler surfacing for guests to walk on.

SYNAugustine 547 is also made with SYNLawn’s exclusive EnviroLoc+™ Backing System, created from renewable resources like soybean oil. The EnviroLoc+™ Backing System even optimizes drainage for easy clean-up.
