Solar-Powered Community Builds Outdoor Amphitheater Featuring Bio-Based Artificial Grass Landscaping
London, Ontario, Canada — West 5, the first solar-powered mixed-use community in Ontario, prides itself on producing the same amount of renewable, clean energy as it uses. Every space throughout the development was designed to be sustainable, including its outdoor gathering place known as Legacy Square. SYNLawn Toronto shares the same passion for green living and sustainability, which is why they were chosen to help construct an outdoor amphitheater featuring bio-based artificial grass landscaping.
Installing Safe and Sustainable Turf
Legacy Square is the premiere multi-use destination for West 5 residents and their guests to congregate for social, recreational, and entertainment activities and opportunities. SYNLawn Toronto understands the importance of well-designed public green spaces and their positive impact on community engagement. The team has vast experience working on large-scale commercial installations, so they were the best choice to contribute to the project. They collaborated with Hill Design Studio Inc. and Outer Construction to design and construct the amphitheater area using eco-friendly landscaping materials.
SYNLawn Toronto installed 1,200 square feet of SYNSport, an extremely durable and soft multi-use turf for seating throughout the amphitheater. SYNSport is one of the safest and cleanest turf options available. It’s manufactured with Trionic Plus™ technology for a softer, stronger, and longer-lasting variety of turf. This latest industry innovation was developed through the super molecular fusion of nylon and polyethylene (PE). SYNSport also features Super Yarn™ technology made with unique additives such as Sanitized™ Antimicrobial Technology, DualChill™ IR Reflective Technology and StatBlock™ Anti-Static Component.
SYNSport is also a more environmentally conscious choice due to its plant-based EnviroLoc+™ Backing System created from renewable resources. This multi-layer component system locks in durable turf fibers to help extend the life cycle of the turf. The community will also not have to worry about ongoing maintenance of the turf such as watering or mowing, which will save time, money, and valuable resources.
SYNLawn Toronto was grateful for the opportunity to contribute their skills and expertise to help make London greener. They enjoyed collaborating with a community that values sustainability as much as they do. They look forward to continuing to enhance commercial projects with sustainable landscaping solutions and collaborative partnerships.
