SYNLawn Builds Dream Backyard for Make-a-Wish Family
Kensington, MD — Giving back to the communities we serve is important to our company. Our global network of distributors regularly donate their time, services and artificial turf to a variety of charitable organizations, including Make-a-Wish®. SYNLawn Chesapeake Bay worked closely with Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic to surprise a well-deserving Make-A-Wish family with the backyard of their dreams.
Transforming the Yard with Premium Artificial Grass
When SYNLawn Chesapeake Bay was contacted by their local Make-a-Wish chapter about helping grant a wish for a child named Rohan and his family, they immediately reached out to every vendor they work with to donate towards the backyard makeover. In addition to the faux grass and hours of labor that the SYNLawn team provided, the other companies that contributed towards this great cause included Aggtrans, Brock USA, Motz (formerly known as USGreentech) and Rental Works of Maryland.
SYNLawn transformed the Make-a-Wish family’s backyard with the installation of approximately 2,600 square feet of SYNAugustine 847 (SA847), providing a soft and durable surfacing that looks like real grass. It’s one of the cleanest and safest turf products on the market since it’s made with Super Yarn™ technology that offers heat reflective, anti-static, Sanitized® and non-abrasive grass blades. SA847 is highly-rated for safety due to not requiring pesticides for lawn maintenance and its padded surface helps reduce the impact of falls to help prevent children from getting injured. It also offers a smoother surface, so it’s more accessible for children like Rohan, who use a walker to get around.
SYNAugustine 847 is also an eco-friendly turf due to its certification as a USDA Biobased product based on its percentage of biobased content. SYNLawn’s exclusive plant-based EnviroLoc+™ backing system replaces a large percentage of the petroleum-based polyol with renewable soybeans. The Make-a-Wish family will save money on water usage since no watering is needed to keep the lawn looking green all year round.
SYNLawn Chesapeake Bay was proud to help create a beautiful and more accessible backyard for Rohan and his family. One of their favorite moments of the project was the big reveal of the renovated backyard. It was a priceless moment watching Rohan be able to easily explore his amazing new backyard and brought tears of joy to his mom’s eyes.
