SYNLawn Germany Brings a Green Revival to the Augsburg Summer Nights Festival
Augsburg, Germany — After a three-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, the Augsburg Summer Nights, Bavaria’s largest city festival, made a highly-anticipated return this year. The city’s heart was transformed into an atmospheric open-air club, brimming with music, food, drinks, and the extraordinary addition of SYNLawn’s artificial grass, enhancing the vibrancy and enjoyment of the festival.
Creating an Inviting Festival Atmosphere with SYNLawn
Our dedicated team at SYNLawn Germany partnered with Bernhard Osswald of bos Sport, our distributor in Bavaria, to create an inviting and vibrant festival space. Given the significance of the event and the excitement around its return, the project had a unique challenge: to bring a sense of natural beauty and comfort to the historic city center.
With this goal in mind, we installed a specially made SYNMeadow 25 turf around the iconic Herkulesbrunnen. The high-quality synthetic turf, known for its safety, comfort, and durability, added a touch of greenery to the surroundings, providing a refreshing contrast to the urban environment and enhancing the festival experience for the attendees. Although the city’s regulations necessitated the removal of the installation on July 3, the same turf will be reused for the Augsburg Summer Nights in 2024, making it a sustainable solution for such events.
SYNLawn at the Heart of Augsburg’s Heritage
Augsburg is home to more than 100 fountains, each uniquely representing the city’s historical and cultural heritage. Among these is the Herkulesbrunnen, a part of the city’s three monumental fountains symbolizing the system of estates of the imperial city. The SYNLawn installation at this location was about enhancing the event’s aesthetics and paying homage to the city’s rich history and tradition.
Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 6, 2019, these fountains, including the Herkulesbrunnen, form an integral part of Augsburg’s water management system. Installing SYNLawn artificial turf around this historic fountain presented an opportunity to blend modern convenience with timeless heritage.
Augsburg Summer Nights – A Grand Comeback
This year, from June 29 to July 1, Augsburg once again transformed into a sea of lights and people, celebrating long days and longer nights. The addition of SYNLawn’s artificial grass brought a new dimension to the festival, offering a comfortable and beautiful space for attendees to enjoy the event amidst the city’s historical charm.
