Fort Wayne, IN – The Riverfront at Promenade Park, a state-of-the-art, multi-use building, was built on a prime downtown site with breathtaking views of the park and the St. Mary’s River. The upscale property has 228 residential units, 15,000 square feet of retail space, 25,000 square feet of office space, and a 900-space parking garage. SYNLawn Indiana was chosen to design and create two luxurious outdoor living spaces for residents to use for recreation, exercise, relaxation, and socialization.
Designing a Stylish Rooftop Retreat with Premium Turf
SYNLawn Indiana’s landscape architect worked closely on the design of the residential project with Studio M Architecture & Planning. This is their fourth collaboration to create stylish, innovative rooftop retreats for urban residents.
The St. Joseph, St. Mary’s, and Maumee rivers converge in Fort Wayne, IN, and helped inspire the unique design of both roof terraces. The SYNLawn Indiana team used approximately 18,000 square feet of SYNRye 200 to install the first rooftop leisure space. This premium artificial turf is soft and ideal for high-traffic communal areas, and it’s one of the safest options for faux grass due to its ASTM E108 Class A Fire Rating. SYNRye 200 is a sustainable product made with SYNLawn’s EnviroLoc+™ backing system that replaces a majority of the petroleum-based polyol with renewable soybeans.
SYNLawn Indiana also created a custom putting green on the second rooftop retreat terrace by installing approximately 1,500 square feet of SYNLawn’s Precision Putt premium golf surface. This synthetic golf grass is known for its realistic performance, excellent ball control, and for delivering the most accurate putting experience available.
Maintenance of the roof terrace areas will be minimal since the artificial grass does not require watering like natural grass, and little to no maintenance is needed to keep both spaces looking green and pristine. SYNLawn Indiana enjoyed bringing the design to life using the finest synthetic turf products to provide residents with beautiful green spaces to enhance urban living.
