Mountain Home, ID — Idaho’s Mountain Home Air Force Base provides training to military working dogs and their handlers to teach them how to work together to perform detection missions and overcome obstacles (i.e., stairs and tunnels) they may face in their roles. They recently upgraded their K-9 confidence course with premium pet turf installed by SYNLawn Idaho to make it safer and cleaner for trainees.
Creating a Clean, Safe, and Sustainable Dog Training Facility
SYNLawn Idaho worked with The Core Group (TCG), an industrial and commercial construction company, to transform the project space into a first-rate dog training facility. The surfacing of the obstacle and obedience course was upgraded with approximately 15,800 square feet of SYNLawn’s SYNPro PET, which is the cleanest and safest turf to use for dog-friendly properties. Unlike natural grass, this durable surfacing will never get muddy, so the dogs’ paws will remain clean, and they won’t pick up pests like ticks and fleas.
SYNPro PET also features an exclusive plant-based Backing System called EnviroLoc+™ that optimizes drainage for easy clean-up. This eco-friendly turf is suitable for a desert environment like Mountain Home since it doesn’t require water or mowing maintenance like real grass.
It was an interesting project for the SYNLawn Idaho team since the military base was remotely located more than an hour away in the desert, and access to the site required daily security checks. SYNLawn Idaho was proud to support the Air Force and provide military working dogs and K-9 handlers with a first-class training facility that will benefit trainees for many years.
