Gilroy, CA — As part of a modernization project, Gilroy Unified School District transformed South Valley Middle School to create a state-of-the-art campus, which included a new central courtyard installed by SYNLawn Central California. The campus quad features premium artificial grass uniquely designed in the shape of a tiger’s paw to represent the school’s mascot.
Creating a Safe and Sustainable Outdoor Social Area
The SYNLawn Central California team installed approximately 24,000 square feet of SYNPro to create an outdoor social area for students to enjoy year-round. The artificial turf looks and feels like natural grass but is built with durability to withstand heavy foot traffic and is made with UV-stabilized yarns to resist fading from the sun. It’s a safer option for schools since pesticides are no longer necessary, and it helps minimize students’ outdoor allergies.
SYNLawn Central California also installed Brock USA’s SP20 shock fall pads to provide the students of South Valley Middle School with a safer surface and easier mobility.
Synthetic turf is a more sustainable landscaping option for drought-prone states like California. It requires zero watering and little to no lawn care maintenance is needed to keep it looking pristine and green all year long.
SYNLawn Central California took pride in creating a green and one-of-a-kind outdoor space for generations of students to enjoy.
