Creating a Safe Adventure Playground Environment with Premium Turf
To create a fun and creative space for children of all ages, the SYNLawn Chesapeake Bay team installed 2,330 square feet of SYNAugustine X47. This premium artificial turf is excellent for play areas, providing unmatched softness and durability. The adventure playground grass also provides residents with a safer and cleaner play environment since it doesn’t get muddy, no pesticides are needed for lawn care, and it minimizes outdoor allergies.
Another safety benefit is that the 2-inch fall pad used in the installation of the synthetic playground surfacing will reduce the impact of common falls. More than 200,000 kids end up in the emergency room yearly due to playground injuries, but faux turf with a padded underlayment will help absorb the shock better than natural grass.
Using SYNAugustine X47 for the playground installation is also eco-friendly since it’s made with SYNLawn’s exclusive plant-based EnviroLoc+™ backing system. EnviroLoc+ replaces a large portion of the petroleum-based polyol with renewable soybeans. This sustainable turf installation method has also earned the coveted USDA Bio-Preferred system certification.
