New Dog Park Opens on Prime Real Estate in Miami
Dog owners and residents alike in Downtown Miami celebrated one of the city’s newest developments, a 20,000-square-foot dog park that boasts spectacular views. City officials held the grand opening on October 1st for what is now the largest dog park in the city. Its prime location at Margaret Pace Park, an eight-acre waterfront park in Downtown Miami, means residents living in nearby high rises now have a designated destination where their furry friends can not only run without their leash, but also take care of business within the fenced-in area.
The team from SYNLawn South Florida worked with the Miami Community Redevelopment Agency to create this turnkey project. The company, which has completed other projects like playgrounds and batting cages for the City of Miami, handled everything from the curb and base to the trees and rubber mulch to the fire hydrants and fencing. During the 45-day timeframe for the project, they also installed 20,000 square feet of SYNLawn Pet Premium. One of the reasons why the city opted for a specific place for pups was that people who would walk around Margaret Pace Park were complaining about constantly stepping in doggie droppings left in the natural grass. “People don’t have homes where they can let their dogs go out to the backyard,” said Jorge Sanz, from SYNLawn South Florida. “They have to take their dogs somewhere to relieve themselves, so it was an area that needed a dog park,” he added.
