Boston, MA — The iconic Fenway Park is the oldest baseball stadium in the United States and the home of the Boston Red Sox. The historic stadium opened in 1912 and has undergone several renovations and expansions in the past few decades. One of the latest upgrades to the stadium was the installation of artificial turf in the Red Sox dugout and player’s tunnel, completed by the team at the New England Turf Store (aka SYNLawn New England).
Redesigning Fenway Park with Premium Artificial Turf
The New England team has worked on other enhancement projects for Fenway Park (see Fenway Farms), so they were the best choice to redesign the dugout and the players’ tunnel with premium turf products.
For the Red Sox players’ dugout area, the New England Team installed 140 square feet of SYNLawn’s Precision Putt. This turf is extremely durable and lasts for years in all climates, including Boston’s harsh weather conditions, making it ideal for a high-traffic area like the dugout. The turf’s vibrant, natural appearance is another benefit of the highly visible space.
For the Red Sox players’ tunnel leading to the dugout, the team installed a combination of 400 square feet of Ultrabase Champion Panels, which create a foundation for the turf, and 400 square feet of SYNSport artificial turf.
