Backyard Space Transformed into Perfect Spot for Family Staycations
Rio Rancho, NM — SYNLawn New Mexico worked closely with the Bustos family of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, last year to transform their backyard space into a backyard retreat they could enjoy together as a family. The backyard escape was much needed during the COVID-19 pandemic since the family could not take a traditional vacation. This backyard overhaul helped the family escape to a private backyard paradise.
Revamping a Backyard Space Into an Outdoor Oasis
The Bustos family selected SYNLawn to transform their backyard into an outdoor oasis since SYNLawn New Mexico had a stellar reputation within the Rio Rancho community. The timing was vital since they wanted a private getaway spot due to COVID-19 restrictions that required them to stay home. SYNLawn New Mexico installed 3,315-square-feet of SYNPro 70 and 1,152-square-feet of blue SYNCourt™ to revitalize the yard space with much-needed color. SYNPro 70, a USDA Certified Biobased Product, was used for the majority of the backyard space to provide a realistic grass look. SYNCourt was also selected to create a beautiful custom 2-tone blue half-court basketball court. This product’s dynamic and colorful appearance, combined with its inherent safety, maintenance, and performance characteristics, make it the ideal choice for sports surfacing.
Other highlights of the new backyard space designed by SYNLawn New Mexico included a fire pit area surrounded by 324-square-feet of Cambridge Cobble® Bella Pavers from Belgard and 320-linear-feet of paver edging that framed the artificial turf. In addition to the basketball court and fire pit area, an in-ground trampoline was also added, offering more entertainment and physical activity options. The SYNLawn team used 266 wall blocks to reinforce the trampoline to ensure safety.
Overcoming Challenge Caused by the Pandemic
The team’s main challenge was working on the entire project with only a skeleton crew due to the need for smaller work teams to comply with restrictions during the pandemic. However, SYNLawn New Mexico was able to satisfy the clients by delivering a beautiful, fun backyard oasis the family will enjoy with their friends and neighbors for many years to come.
